Changes in terms and conditions of Air Lingus passenger transportation due to coronavirus: not relevant at the moment.

Infants aged 0-5 months should fly on an adult's lap restrained by an infant loop belt. Infants aged 6 months to 2 years may also travel on the lap of an accompanying adult. In this cases a fee applies, €25 or equivalent (excluding taxes and fees, for a one-way flight) on all European routes or 10% of the adult fare on flights to/from North America.

Aer Lingus Airline hand luggage:

1 piece of carry-on baggage, to take it with you in the cabin only if you booked an additional priority boarding service online for €9.99 / £9.99, free of charge for Plus, Advantage and Aer Space fares, otherwise the hand luggage still can be transported free of charge - only in the hold; in the cabin, the hand baggage is placed in the locker above the passenger seat,

+ Aer Lingus allows to take on board small personal items (umbrella, handbag, briefcase, walking stick/cane, books, laptop, camcorder, camera, bag with baby accessories or with Duty Free purchases and so on), can be placed under the front seat.

For an infant / child it's permitted to carry free of charge  one fully collapsible buggy / stroller (is checked in with other baggage and can be handed down at the gate if required), plus one more item: car or booster seat or travel cot. The hand baggage of an infant must be included in the hand baggage allowance of the accompanying adult. Cabin baggage allowance for children from 2 to 12 years of age is the same as for adults.

Passengers with special requirements or persons needing help of the airline staff must notify the airline at the time of booking or not later than 48 hours before departure by filling in Aer Lingus special assistance request form.
Passengers with restricted mobility can travel in their own wheelchairs for no additional cost, you can get information on wheelchair requirements by contacting Aer Lingus customer service. more info  

Aer Lingus Airline Checked Baggage:

! The sum of three dimensions of any hold baggage item must not be larger than 158 cm On transatlantic flights for infants (children up to 2 years old) without own seat, 10 kg check-in baggage is included in the booking, there is no check-in baggage for infants traveling on the lap of an accompanying adult on European flights.more info

Flights within Europe:

Fees for excess (extra) hold baggage on Aer Lingus flights online, call center +€10, at the airport +€10 and only 20 kg bags

Extra piece: online €10, through call center or at the airport: near €35 / mid €50 / far €65 (! does not increase your overall weight allowance, but you can spread your weight across more bags: you can add maximum 3 of them)

Excess weight is charged €10 per kg Transatlantic Flights:

Excess baggage fee - for baggage weighing from 24 kg to a maximum of 32 kg per bag: €75.

A maximum of 3 checked baggage items are permitted per guest, per flight.

Baggage fees for second and subsequent bags weighing up to 23 kg per bag: at the airport €75; in the table below: fees online or through call center more info  

Aer Lingus Airline carriage of pets:

All suitably harnessed assistance dogs can travel in the passenger cabin for free. Aer Lingus requires at least 48 hrs. notification. A maximum of four assistance dogs is permitted per aircraft per flight on flights within Europe and eight assistance dogs — on transatlantic flights.

On Aer Lingus Regional flights: cats, dogs and rabbits travel for a fee of ~ €40.

On flights from Ireland to North America: Household pets (cats & dogs only) can be booked as excess baggage, fee is ~ €160 per sector:
animals can be shipped as excess baggage to Boston, Newark, Washington, New York, Miami, Orlando, Chicago and Toronto.
There is no advance booking required for pets (cats & dogs) travelling to Hartford or Philadelphia, on other routes, they can be booked as excess baggage by contacting [email protected] 14 days before departure

! Animals won't be accepted on flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Minneapolis.
On flights from North America to Ireland: pets must be shipped as cargo.more info  

Aer Lingus Airline carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

Aer Lingus Airline carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments carried in the passenger cabin: small instruments can be taken instead of hand luggage (maximum weight and dimensions must not exceed those for hand luggage). When carried in the passenger seat, the weight of the instrument must not exceed 75 kg and its maximum size is 94x58x41 cm.

Musical instruments can also be carried as checked baggage. On flights to / from North America, instruments are carried on account and in accordance with the baggage allowance. On all other flights, the same fee as for transporting sports equipment (€40/£32 online or €50/£40 through the call center or at the airport) applies. If necessary, the usual excess baggage fee is also applicable.more info
