Changes in terms and conditions of Bulgaria Airlines passenger transportation due to coronavirus:
at present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

wearing a protective mask  covering both your nose and mouth is mandatory at all stages of the flight: when boarding / disembarking and during the flight; usually surgical masks or FFP2, KN95 or N95 standards are allowed and face shields, masks with valve or scarves are not acceptable.

Airline Bulgaria Air hand luggage:

1 piece of carry-on baggage with the sum of three dimensions 118 cm (55х40х23 cm)

+ Bulgarian Airlines allow carriage of a small personal item or a laptop bag For an infant (a child under 2 years) traveling on your lap with Bulgarian Airlines, it's allowed to take a fully collapsible stroller / buggy free of charge (you can use it until boarding the plane).

Passengers with disabilities and special requirements, those needing assistance of the airline staff or who recently undergone an operation or have had an accident should contact the airline and submit a medical certificate at least 3 days before scheduled departure. Otherwise transportation may be denied.
For passengers with restricted mobility, carriage of powered wheelchairs and other electric mobility aids requires prior notification (24 hrs before scheduled departure) and consent of the airline. Only non-spillable battery-powered devices can be accepted.more info  

Airline Bulgaria Air Checked Baggage:

The sum of three dimensions of any hold baggage item must not be larger than 158 cm Excluding hand baggage only fare, for children up to 2 years travelling on an adult's lap, a free bag of 10 kg is allowed.more info  

Airline Bulgaria Air excess baggage charges:

Standard piece of baggage 23 kg, heavy (overweight) 23-32 kg, oversized 158-203 cm.

A piece of checked baggage heavier than 32 kg will be carried only as cargo.

Fees in €, domestic / international * 1st piece: applicable for hand baggage only fare.

Fees are charged in £ for flights from London, in CHF from Zurich, and in $US and from Tel Aviv.more info  

Airline Bulgaria Air carriage of pets:

Pets (only cats and dogs) carried in the aircraft cabin. The size of the container must not exceed 105 cm in the sum of three dimensions: 48x35x22 cm, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg (for flights FB1431/1432 to/from Paris with operator Air France 6 kg). Fees are charged per animal and flight segment, €60 at the airport.

Pets (only cats and dogs) carried in the baggage compartment on Bulgaria Air flights, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) is not limited* and its dimensions can be up to 110x65x70 cm. * Containers weighing more than 32 kg are not accepted for carriage to / from Brussels.more info  

Airline Bulgaria Air carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

Sports equipment not exceeding baggage allowance (23 kg) is not included in the baggage allowance.

Sports equipment weighing up to 23 kg and with sum of three dimensions 203 cm is transported for a flat fee of €50.

Exception: one set of ski or snowboard equipment per passenger on domestic / international flights will be carried free of charge.

Bicycles: max size of packing 160x90x25 cm,  domestic / international flights: €30 / 70.

Carriage of firearms and ammunition other than sport weapons and ammunition is prohibited. In some cases, carriage of firearms and ammunition for hunting and sporting purposes may be allowed.

Hunting rifles and ammunition up to 15 kg / over 15 kg: €50 / 70.

Bulgaria Air carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments are included in the baggage allowance.

But if the instrument can not be carried instead of hand luggage, it's recommended to get in contact with the airline staff and inform them about your intention to travel with a fragile object as checked baggage or to book for it a separate seat.

When carried in the passenger's seat, the weight of the instrument usually must not exceed 80 kg, and its size must not exceed 135х50х30 cm.more info
