Changes in terms and conditions of Tarom passenger transportation due to coronavirus:
at present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

wearing a protective mask covering both your nose and mouth is mandatory at all stages of the flight: when boarding / disembarking and during the flight.

Tarom Airlines hand luggage:

1x piece of carry-on baggage with the sum of three dimensions 115 cm (55х40х20 cm) for Boeing and Airbus and 35x30x20 cm for ATR 42 and ATR 72 aircrafts

+ small personal items (! counts to the total weight of your hand luggage: umbrella, handbag, books, laptop, camcorder, camera and so on) Passengers with disabilities and special requirements, those needing assistance of the airline staff should contact Tarom at the time of booking or not later than 36 hrs before departure.

Passengers with restricted mobility may carry wheelchairs free of charge (the number is limited). Tarom aircrafts have no wheelchairs on board.

Airline Tarom Checked Baggage:

The sum of three dimensions of any hold baggage item must not be larger than 158 cm.

For an infant (children up to 2 years of age) traveling on an adult’s lap, a folding stroller, as well as one piece of baggage with the sum of three dimensions up to 115 cm and weighing up to 10 kg, is carried free of charge. * on Tarom flights between Bucharest and Beirut / Amman / Larnaca / Rome: the free hold baggage allowance is 30 kg

All domestic flights on Boeing and Airbus: for business class 3 pieces of checked baggage up to 30 kg each, for economy class — 1 piece up to 23 kg.more info  

Tarom Airlines excess baggage charges:

Standard piece of baggage 23 kg, heavy 24-32 kg, oversized more than 158 cm (max 203 cm).

All items heavier than 32 kg will be transported only as cargo.

Prices in € * 1st standard piece of baggage for Economy Class if paid for and confirmed 48 hours or more before departure

! For aircrafts ATR42/ATR72 the max number of accepted bags is 3 and for B737/Airbus - 10 per passenger.more info  

Airline Tarom carriage of pets:

Pets (dogs and cats) carried in the aircraft cabin on flights of Tarom. The size of the container must not exceed 88 cm in the sum of three dimensions: 42х26х20 cm, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg.

Pets (cats and dogs) carried in the baggage compartment, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 75 kg. The maximum container dimensions for aircraft type ATR 42/72 are 71x50x51 cm, and for Boeing 737 & 122x82x84 cm.

The signed Conditions for transporting a dog or cat in the hold - form must be handed in at check-in.

The transportation of the pets is not allowed in the cargo space of the Airbus A318 aircraft.

Prices in € Service animals accompanying persons with disabilities can travel in the cabin for free, this service requires prior notification and consent of the airline.

Tarom Airlines carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

Type 1. Sports equipment up to 23 kg and over 158 cm not mentioned below: with overall size more than 203 cm notification and approval from the airline is will be required.

Type 2. Golf, fishing and skiing equipment up to 23kg and 210cm in total of three dimensions: when flying on ATR aircraft the airline should be notified.

Type 3. Surfboards, windboards, kiteboards, bodyboards, scuba diving equipment, canoes, kayaks.

Type 4. Bicycles, sporting and hunting weapons and ammunition.

Prices in € Firearms and ammunition: require prior notification, check in 2 hours before the usual time, max 5 kg of ammunition.more info  

Airline Tarom carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments are included in the baggage allowance and can be carried instead of carry-on or hold baggage pieces, but in this case the carrier is not liable for their damage.

When carried in the passenger seat, the weight of the instrument usually must not exceed 80 kg, and its size must not exceed 135х50х30 cm.

Carriage of musical instruments heavier than 32 kg (up to 45 kg) in the luggage compartment (as special baggage) was previously possible with prior notification of the airline and at special rates. Now it's stated that such items can be carried only as cargo.more info
