Changes in terms and conditions of Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) passenger transportation due to coronavirus:
at present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

wearing a protective mask covering both your nose and mouth and medical gloves is mandatory at all stages of the flight: when boarding / disembarking and during the flight (for all passengers more than 6 years old, one mask for 2-4 hours of flight);

the main piece of hand luggage will be placed in the hold at no extra charge, in the cabin you can take only a small bag or briefcase, which should not exceed 5 kg and 40x30x10 cm.

Ukraine Airlines (UIA) hand luggage:

1 piece of carry-on baggage up to 7 kg: the sum of three dimensions may not exceed 115 cm (55х40х20 cm).
An additional piece of hand luggage with weight of up to 5 kg can not be larger than 40х30х10 cm.

! Small personal items (handbag, briefcase, books, laptop, camcorder, camera, bag with Duty Free purchases and so on) must be placed inside your hand baggage. In addition, it's allowed to carry 1 article of seasonal outer clothing and 1 umbrella.

For an infant (a child under 2 years old), you can take on board one bag not exceeding the max allowed dimensions of carry-on baggage (55х40х20 cm) and weighing up to 5 kg with diapers, baby food for the duration of the flight, toys and child clothing. It is also possible to carry one small baby stroller / pushchair or 1 baby cot or 1 baby car seat free of charge (as checked baggage or in the cabin).
! Larger baby strollers / pushchairs are carried as checked baggage and may require payment if free baggage allowance is exceeded.

Passengers with disabilities and special requirements, those needing assistance of the airline staff should contact the airline at the time of booking or not later than 48 hrs before departure through.
Passengers with restricted mobility can carry in the cabin of the aircraft the following mobility aids: 1 cane or 1 pair of crutches, or 1 walker, other mobility devices necessary during the flight. The sum of three dimensions of any hold baggage item must not be larger than 158 cm.

Economy Lite: no hold baggage allowance.

Ukraine Airlines (UIA) excess baggage charges:

Standard piece of hold baggage 23 kg, heavy up to 32 kg, oversized more than 158 cm (and up to 300 cm).

Items heavier than 32 kg or over 300 cm in the sum of three dimensions can be transported only as cargo.

Zone 1: Domestic flights (Ukraine).
Zone 2: Europe (except Ukraine), Belarus, Moldova, Cyprus, Russia (the European part), the Asian part of Russia, including Siberia, but with the exception of the Far East; Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan; Middle East: Egypt, Libya, Jordan, Oman, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Qatar, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia; North Africa: Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia.
Zone 2a: Israel as zone 2 + ~10%.
Zone 3: the rest of the world.

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) carriage of pets:

Service animals accompanying persons with disabilities can travel in the cabin for free, this service requires prior notification and consent of the airline.

Pets (cats and dogs) carried in the aircraft cabin. The size of the container must not exceed 115 cm in the sum of three dimensions: 55х40х20 cm, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg.

Pets (cats and dogs) carried in the baggage compartment, contact Ukraine International Airlines customer service 24 hrs prior to departure, if the weight of the container (with pet/pets) not exceeds 32 kg or 72 hrs — with its weight up to 75 kg.

Ukraine Airlines (UIA) carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

A set of sports equipment (ski, golf, diving, fishing, surfing, archery, hockey, bowling, camping equipment, sporting and hunting weapons, skateboards etc.) under 23 kg (for any fare) is considered to be a standard hold baggage item regardless of its size.

For sports equipment exceeding the free baggage allowance standard rates for excess baggage will be applied (as also applies the 50% discount for bookings at least 24 hrs. prior to departure).

Sports equipment over 300 сm or 32 kg (tandem bikes, surfboards longer than 300 cm, vaulting poles, spears, kayaks and canoes, oars, hang gliders, etc.) shall be carried as cargo.

For carrying firearms and ammunition (max 5 kg) there is an additional handling fee of €50. This service requires prior notification, for flights to/from the US not later than 48 hrs before the scheduled departure.more info  

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments are included in the baggage allowance. You can carry them instead of your cabin (if the size of its case does not exceed 80x40x20 cm and weight 7 kg) or checked baggage*, but the airline won't accept any liability for their damage.

When carried in the passenger seat, the weight of the instrument must not exceed 80 kg and its size 150х60х50 cm.
