Changes in terms and conditions of Brussels Airlines passenger transportation due to coronavirus:
at present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

wearing a protective mask (surgical masks, FFP2, KN95 or N95 standards are acceptable) covering both your nose and mouth is mandatory for all passengers over the age of 6 at all stages of the flight: when boarding / disembarking and during the flight; face shields or masks with valve are not allowed.

! Infants (children up to 2 years of age) travel on an adult’s lap at a discount of 90% of the applicable fare. Discount on air tickets for children aged 2 to 12 years is 20% of the adult fare.

! From February 18 to March 6, 2022 50% discount on flights from Europe to the U.S. when booking for 2 people with Eco Light / Economy fares: Chicago from €643 / €759 • New York from €493 / €603 • Washington from €543 / €653 for flights from February 18 to March 31, 2022.

Brussels Airlines hand luggage:

1x piece of hand luggage 55х40х23 cm (57х54х15 cm for garment bags), it can be placed in the overhead locker

+ Brussels Airlines also allows to take on board small personal items, which must fit under the seat in front (handbag, laptop / camera bag, briefcase; other small items such as jackets, duty free bags, etc. should be stored either in your carry-on bag or inside your small personal item)

! the weight of your personal item counts towards the total weight of your hand baggage. ! An additional fee will be charged for overweight / oversized carry-on baggage (paid via debit/credit card or in cash).more info  

Brussels Airlines Checked Baggage:

The sum of three dimensions of any hold baggage item must not be larger than 158 cm. No checked baggage with Economy Light fare.

Flights between Mumbai and North-America or Africa: you can carry 2 pieces of hold baggage free of charge; flights to / from Africa: 2 pieces of baggage are allowed, but not on some intra-African routes.more info  

Brussels Airlines excess baggage charges:

Standard piece 23 kg (Business 32 kg), heavy 21-32 kg, oversized more than 158 cm.

Excess baggage of up to 100 kg can in principle be carried as checked baggage without prior consent of Brussels Airlines.

Excess baggage over 100 kg can only be carried as checked baggage after prior consent of Brussels Airlines at the time of booking.

A single baggage item should not exceed the limit of 32 kg.

Passengers may check in a maximum of 5 pieces of hold baggage. All pieces exceeding this maximum amount must be sent as cargo.

Baggage with sum of three dimensions exceeding 203 cm is subject to evaluation on acceptance.

Brussels Airlines carriage of pets:

Service and assistance dogs are carried on board free of charge.

Pets (dogs and cats) carried in the aircraft cabin on Brussels Airlines flights. The size of the container must not exceed 118 cm in the sum of three dimensions: 55х40х23 cm, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg.

Pets carried in the baggage compartment, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 20 kg.

Prices in € per container and flight ! Rodents (such as guinea pigs and hamsters), birds, large pets (over 8 kg) or wild animals are not accepted for carriage in the cabin or the luggage compartment. They can only be transported as cargo.
! You'll have to pay an additional fee of € 150 / CHF 175 / $ 175 / CAD 220 per one way for the transfer of your pet in the baggage compartment via Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Vienna or Geneva.more info  

Brussels Airlines carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

All sports equipment not exceeding baggage allowance is included in the baggage allowance (cabin or hold).

In case, the free baggage allowance is exceeded in number of pieces or weight, following special rates apply per flight. For all other sports equipment, which is not part of the specific list below, the normal excess baggage rates apply.

1st type: ski and snowboard equipment, alpinist / hiking / walking, archery, bowling, fencing, fishing, golf, hockey, parachute, scuba, tennis- / squash- / badminton, waterski equipment, bicycle, boogieboard / bodyboard, inline-skates, javelin, kite surfboard / wakeboard, skateboard, sporting / hunting weapons plus ammunition*, surfboard, waveboard
* Passengers traveling to and from Italy and Spain are charged an additional service fee of €60 for weapons and ammunition, and Geneva airport charges a processing fee of CHF 200 for handling baggage requiring special security measures.

2nd type: canoe / kayak, longboard, rubber dinghy, hang gliding, horse riding, windsurf equipment, pole vault, tandem bike

Prices in € per flight ! The length of ski and snowboard equipment can be up to 200 cm (type 1), and boards of various purposes up to 315 cm (type 2).more info  

Brussels Airlines carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments are included in the baggage allowance.

When carried in the passenger's seat, the weight of the instrument usually must not exceed 80 kg, and its size must not exceed 135х50х30 cm.more info
