Changes in terms and conditions of Czech Airlines passenger transportation due to coronavirus

! From March the 5, 2021, to board any Czech Airlines plane to and from the Czech Republic, you will need to present a negative antigen (valid for no more than 24 hours) or PCR-test (up to 72 hours) for coronavirus made by an accredited laboratory.

At present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed (mainly not more than 72 hours before departure) negative PCR test (PCR test) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country;

wearing a protective mask covering both your nose and mouth is mandatory at all stages of the flight: only 2 surgical masks placed on top of one another and/or masks with enhanced protective properties may be used when boarding / disembarking and during the flight.

! Infants (children under 2 years) travel on the lap of an accompanying person (without a separate seat) at 10% of the usual fare and for children under 11 years of age there's a 25% discount.

Czech Airlines hand luggage:

1x piece of hand luggage with sum of three dimensions 125 cm (55х45х25 cm)

+ Czech Airlines also allows on its flights small personal items not larger than 40x30x15 cm: umbrella, handbag, briefcase, walking stick/cane, books, laptop, camcorder, camera, bag with Duty Free purchases and so on
! No hand luggage for children under 2 years traveling on your lap.

Czech Airlines Checked Baggage:

One piece of hold baggage with the sum of three dimensions not larger than 250 cm.
For a child under 2 years without a separate seat and traveling on the lap of an accompanying adult: collapsible baby strollers, portable cots or car seats can be checked free of charge (including for Light fare) and one piece of checked baggage weighing up to 10 kg and with the sum of three dimensions not exceeding 115 cm (with the exception of Light fare whit no checked baggage allowance).

Passengers with disabilities and special requirements, those needing assistance of the airline staff should contact the airline at the time of booking or not later than 48 hrs before departure.
Passengers with restricted mobility are entitled to carriage of 2 additional pieces of checked baggage for mobility aids (including wheelchairs) free of charge. more info  

Czech Airlines excess baggage charges:

Standard piece of baggage Economy 23 kg, Business 32 kg up to 250 cm; heavy (overweight) 23-32 kg.

Fees in €: 36 hrs. in advance / later / at gates, the prices shown in the table below may only apply when booking additional bags online on the Czech Airlines website or through its mobile app together with the flight ticket or late through changing the reservation. If you pay for excess baggage through a call center, travel agency, etc., the price may be higher.
! A piece of baggage heavier than 32 kg or if its sum of three dimensions bigger than 250 cm will be carried only as cargo.

Czech Airlines carriage of pets:

Pets (dogs or cats) carried in the aircraft cabin on Czech Airlines flights. The size of the container must not exceed 100 cm in the sum of three dimensions: 43х30х27 cm, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg. Transporting your pet will cost you CZK 1,530 or €59.

Pets (dogs, cats and ferrets) carried in the baggage compartment, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 32 kg, size of the container — 125x80x69 cm. The cost of the service will be CZK 3,100 or €119.

Leashed and harnessed certified assistance dogs are transported free of charge in the passenger cabin provided they have a training certificate and all required travel documents.

Czech Airlines carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

Sports equipment (ski, snowboard, hockey, golf, fishing, diving equipment, bicycles  not exceeding 32 kg and 250 cm) are excluded from the free baggage allowance and will be transported for an additional fee of CZK 1,530 / €59.

Airlines usually ought to be notified in advance about the transportation of sports and hunting weapons and ammunition, for this service, an additional fee of CZK 2,050 / €79 will be charged. more info  

Czech Airlines carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments are included in the baggage allowance.

When carried in the passenger seat, the weight of an instrument must not exceed 20 kg, and its maximum size is 135х49х35 cm.
