Changes in terms and conditions of Norwegian Airlines passenger transportation due to coronavirus:
at present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (the airline recommends bringing a pen with you), sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code, providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

on intra-Scandinavian routes masks are no longer mandatory, but a mask may be required at arrival points in Scandinavian countries. It is the responsibility of passengers to be aware of the local rules. Surgical or valveless masks with increased protective properties are usually allowed.

Infants (children up to 2 years of age) can travel on an adult’s lap at no extra charge on  Norwegian Air domestic flights and at a discount of 90% of the applicable fare on international flights. Children from 2 to 11 years old travel on a children's ticket for 75% of the adult fare.

Norwegian Airlines hand luggage:

1 piece of hand luggage with the sum of three dimensions 88 cm (30x20x38 cm): must be placed under the front seat

+ for Low Fare + and Flex another piece of carry-on baggage with the overall size no more than 118 cm (55х40х23 cm): placed in the overhead baggage compartment

+  a bag with Duty Free purchases

Instead of your cabin bag, you may take individual items, but they must not exceed your hand baggage allowance or be on the list of prohibited items. ! On flights to/from Dubai: 8 kg

* Passengers with Low Fare can buy an extra hand baggage item 55x40x23 cm weighing up to 10 kg for € 5-10 on domestic and flights between Norway, Denmark and Sweden, for 7-10 € on international short-haul flights or 10 € on international long-haul flights (to/from the US and Thailand).

For an infant (a child under 2 years of age) traveling on an adult’s lap, there is no hand luggage allowance, but one can take on board baby food for the flight duration.

Passengers with disabilities and special requirements, those needing assistance of the airline staff should contact the airline at the time of booking or not later than 48 hrs. before departure.

Passengers with restricted mobility may carry free of charge and in addition to free baggage allowance their mobility aids, including wheelchairs. If you're travelling with an electric wheelchair, you'll need to call Contact Centre in order to make your booking. For electric wheelchairs there are also number, weight and size restrictions on all routes excluding those to / from US: max 2 mobility aids, none of them exceeding 200 kg or 140x114x85 cm.more info  

Norwegian Air Shuttle Checked Baggage:

The sum of three dimensions of any hold baggage item must not be larger than 300 cm (250x79x112 cm) Checked baggage allowance of a small child without a separate place is 5 kg (packed in your or separate bag), in addition you can take a stroller or a car seat. more info  

Norwegian Airlines excess baggage charges:

Each bag must not be heavier than 32 kg or lighter than 2 kg.

Total amount of checked baggage cannot exceed 74 kg.

The sum of three dimensions of any hold baggage item must not be larger than 300 cm (250x79x112 cm).

Fees in the table below in € at the airport, for online excess baggage fees please refer to City pair list. Excess baggage charges will apply to any items over the 2 bags limit and to all items over 23 kg: €15 per kg per leg.

Hand luggage exceeding allowance will be transported as checked baggage and will be charged at the boarding gate €60 on domestic and €100 on international direct flight routes.more info  

Norwegian Air Shuttle carriage of pets:

Pets (cats and dogs) carried in the aircraft cabin on domestic flights in Norway (Svalbard excluded), Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Argentina and Spain. The size of the container must not exceed 43x31x20 cm, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg. The service fee is 55 - 75 / 60 - 85 € (online / at the airport).

Pets (cats and dogs) carried in the baggage compartment between Schengen countries, domestic flights within Argentina and to/from Svalbard (dogs only), the size of the container must not exceed 125x81x86 cm. For pet transportation you'll have to pay 80 - 99 / 85 - 105 € (online / at the airport).

Certified service dogs accompanying people with disabilities are carried free of charge on most routes, but the airline should be notified at least 48 hours before the intended flight.more info  

Norwegian Air Shuttle carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

There are fees for transporting sports equipment listed in the table below. Other sports equipment can be carried as part of free baggage allowance and within its limits.
For items exceeding the free baggage allowance standard rates for excess baggage will be applied.

The weight of sports equipment shall not exceed 32 kg.

Type 1: ski, snowboard, golf equipment, fishing rods, sports weapons and ammunition* (max 23 kg)

Type 2: surfboards and kite equipment (max 250x79x112 cm), bikes and diving equipment (max 23 kg)

Norwegian Airlines carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments are included in the baggage allowance: in the cabin (the max size of the instrument 90x35x20 cm) and in the hold (instruments up to 90x75x55 cm, more than 20 kg + excess baggage charges).

Instruments larger than 90x75x55 cm: book your instrument and pay excess baggage charges at the airport, the sum of three dimensions must not exceed 300 cm (250x79x112 cm). The fee for all flights is £30 - £60.

When carried in the passenger's seat, the size of the instrument must not exceed 140x46x30 cm.more info
