* Guide/Assistance dogs are accepted by almost all (but not all and not on every route) airlines free of charge.
* You must always make a reservation by telephone or online (some airlines require passengers to make a reservation exclusively by phone) and on the whole not later than 24-48 hours before departure.
* Max or total weight describes weight of pet + travel bag/carrier/container/kennel.
* Transportation fees will be lower on domestic flights of airlines, then goes traveling within a specific continent. Usually you'll have to pay more on intercontinental routes.
* Sometimes it's hard to determine even an approximate fee without knowing an exact route (as for Turkish Airlines).
* By airlines as pets are often understood only cats and dogs.
* Most airlines, not accepting animals as carry-on
or checked in
baggage, will accept them to be carried as cargo: then your pet has to be checked in through cargo terminal.
* Usually no more than 2 animals per flight are allowed.
* Charges listed are per one way only.
* If your pet is traveling as checked-in baggage and transfer time at an airport exceeds 2 hours, you're sometimes required to pay an additional fee for the animal’s care
during this transfer.
* Some airlines require pets' reservations to be made not later than 24 hours after your booking or you'll have to face additional charges (Air Canada).
* Your pet container/carrier/bag/kennel is considered to be your personal item in your carry-on baggage allowance.
* Sometimes pets won't be allowed on flights lasting longer than a certain number of hours (Aeromexico: 6h).
* For passengers with pets curbside or self-service check-in is not allowed.
