! If the chosen fare allows, you can receive a reduction on your child's flight ticket: 20% on short- and 33% on medium- and long-haul flights. Children under 2 years can travel on your lap at a discount of 90% (or at no extra charge on flights between Paris and Corsica).

Air France Airlines hand luggage:

1 piece of carry-on baggage with the sum of three dimensions 115 cm (55x35x25 cm)

+ Air France allows to take on board small personal items (accessories)* (40x30x15 cm: handbag, briefcase, books, laptop, camcorder, camera or other electronic devices).
* Please note, that the weight of your accessory will increase the weigh of your hand luggage and that a garment bag is considered to be a standard baggage item and not an accessory.

+ the following items are not included in your hand baggage allowance and are carried on board free of charge: clothes you are wearing (jackets, coats), umbrellas, goods from duty-free stores, baby items (baby carriage, car seat, changing bag), medical devices and equipment (folding wheelchair, crutches, walkers, canes, etc.).

For an infant (children under the age of 2) in addition to your carry-on baggage, you can take on board diapers and baby food for the duration of the flight.
Collapsible strollers and car seats are carried free of charge as carry-on baggage or as checked baggage, you can continue to use them until the moment of boarding the plane.
Hand baggage for infants (under 2 years) traveling in their own seats is the same as that of an adult, and for infants traveling on your lap — max 12 kg (+, with the exception of Light / Basic fare, additionally up to 10 kg of checked baggage). Narrow collapsible strollers with measurement not exceeding 100x30x15 cm are carried in the cabin in addition to your child's luggage*, other types of collapsible strollers replace hand luggage of a child and their dimensions must not exceed 55x35x25 cm.
* This service available on long-haul flights, except between metropolitan France and Cayenne, Fort-de-France, Havana, Mauritius, Pointe-à-Pitre, Punta Cana, Reunion, Saint-Martin and Santo Domingo.

! Below is the combined weight of all hand luggage items, including accessories (small personal items) Passengers with special needs or persons needing help of the airline staff must notify the airline at the time of booking or not later than 48 hours before departure by contacting Saphir Assistance For Passengers With Reduced Mobility.
Passengers with reduced mobility can carry a maximum of two manual or powered mobility aids (including wheelchairs) free of charge. Crutches, walkers, canes, folding mechanical wheelchairs, etc. are usually transported in the cabin, if this is not possible, they can in any case be used until boarding. Information on requirements for powered wheelchairs / other electric mobility aids can be obtained on the Air France website or by contacting the airline's support service; the consent of the airline is required to transport this type of items.more info  

Air France Airline Checked Baggage:

The sum of three dimensions of any item of checked baggage must not be larger than 158 cm ! You can use the Air France baggage calculator in order to get more precise information for your flight route.more info  

Air France Airline excess baggage charges:

Standard piece of checked baggage is 23 kg, overweight between 23 and 32 kg, oversized — 158 and up to 300 cm.

Prices are approximate, in € for flights departing from Europe, in CAD for flights departing from Canada, in $ for flights departing from the United States and all other countries, online / at the airport. ! At the moment, at some Air France airport counters you can only purchase your baggage using a bank card; cash payments are not accepted.

Air France Airlines carriage of pets:

Pets (dogs, cats) may be carried in the aircraft cabin. The size of the soft-sided bag must not exceed 98 cm in the sum of three dimensions (46x28x24 cm) or 46x28x20 cm for hard container, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg.

! Air France no longer accepts pets in the Business cabin on intercontinental flights.

Flights within the Caribbean €30 (excluding flights from and to Miami €55)
Flights between metropolitan France and Cayenne, Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre, Saint-Denis de la Réunion €55 Pets (birds) carried in the baggage compartment on Air France flights, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 75 kg.

Flights within the Caribbean and between metropolitan France and Cayenne, Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre, Saint-Denis de la Réunion €75 ! Air France won't carry your snub-nosed animals (such as pugs, boxers, bulldogs and Shih Tzu dogs, or Persian and Burmese cats) in the cargo hold. On some Air France flights pets are not transported in the luggage compartment.

Air France Airline carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

Skiing (snow or water), snowboard, diving, surfing, golf, fishing equipment, hunting and sport rifles*, scooters not exceeding baggage allowance (23 kg / 32 kg and 300cm in length) considered standard baggage items and included in the baggage allowance.
If the weight or number of items exceed the weight / number of items allowed under your baggage allowance, the excess weight charge must be paid.
* require notification of Air France customer service not later than 48 hrs before scheduled departure

Bikes and tandems (container max 120x90 cm), scuba tanks on short- / medium- / long-haul: €40 / €55-65 / €100-125 ($150)

Surf, kitesurf, bodysurf, windsurf boards and longboards up to 300 cm and 23 kg considered standard baggage and included in the baggage allowance.
On flights to/from United States, Canada or Mexico for boards between 107 and 300 cm (max 23 kg): €65-125 ($150) depending on geographical zone.more info  

Air France Airlines carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments are considered to be standard baggage items and as such are included in the baggage allowance: small instruments under 115 cm (violin, guitar, bugle, etc.) can be transported instead of carry-on baggage and the larger ones (up to 32 kg, cello, bass and so on) — as checked baggage.

Musical instruments over 32 kg or 300 cm are accepted for carriage in the hold only with prior approval from Air France customer service department.

When carried in the passenger's seat, the max weight of an instrument must not exceed 45 kg.more info
