Changes in terms and conditions of Croatia Airlines passenger transportation due to coronavirus:
at present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

wearing a protective mask (FFP2, KN95 or N95 standards are allowed) covering both your nose and mouth is mandatory at all stages of the flight: when boarding / disembarking and during the flight; face shields, masks with valve or scarves are not allowed.

! Infants (children up to 2 years of age) travel on an adult’s lap at no extra charge on domestic flights and at a discount of 90% of the applicable fare on international flights. Discount on air tickets for children aged 2 to 12 years can be up to 50%.

Croatia Airlines hand luggage:

1 piece of carry-on baggage with the sum of three dimensions 115 cm (55х40х20 cm)

+ Croatia Airlines allows its passengers to take on board small personal items (umbrella, handbag, briefcase, walking stick/cane, books, laptop, camcorder, camera, bag with Duty Free purchases and so on) For children under 2 years it's allowed to bring one stroller* or one baby carrier (they are transported in the luggage compartment) or one child car seat (for children traveling in separate seats), and food for the duration of the flight, without additional payment.
* Strollers can be taken for children under 4 years.
! No hand luggage is allowed for children under 2 years traveling on the laps of their parents or other accompanying persons.

Passengers with disabilities and persons requiring assistance from airline staff are advised to notify the airline at least 24 hours (preferably 72 hours) prior to departure of their intention to use airline services.
Wheelchairs and personal mobility devices are always carried at no extra charge; the airline should be informed in advance about their specifications. Sick and disabled persons may carry a pair of crutches and/or a support brace or any other prosthetic device.more info

Croatia Airlines excess baggage charges:

On domestic flights there's an additional 25% VAT charge.

Standard piece of baggage Economy 23 kg, Business 32 kg up to 158 cm; heavy (overweight) 23-32 kg, oversized more than 158 cm.

A piece of baggage heavier than 32 kg will be carried only as cargo.

Croatia Airlines carriage of pets:

Pets (only cats and dogs) carried in the aircraft cabin on Croatia Airlines flights. The size of the container must not exceed 105 cm in the sum of three dimensions: 55х40х20 cm (Air Nostrum aircraft 45x35x25 cm), the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg. Pets (birds) carried in the baggage compartment.
Carriage of animals in a container of max size (125x75x85 cm) is only possible in the Airbus A-319 and Airbus A-320. more info  

Croatia Airlines carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

Sports equipment not exceeding baggage allowance considered to be part of free baggage allowance (number and weight of items, the maximum dimensions of 158 cm may be disregarded up to the size of 200 cm).

One set of ski- or snowboard equipment per person is free of charge on all flights operated by Croatia Airlines.

Normal sports equipment: bicycles, surfboards, waveboards, skate boards, inline skates, kite surfboards, boogieboards / bodyboards, wakeboards, golf, ski, snowboard, water ski, scuba, archery, fishing, parachute, tennis / squash / badminton, alpinist, hockey, javelin, bowling equipment; sporting / hunting guns, pistols, rifles and ammunition (max 5 kg per passenger).

Big sports equipment (more than 32 kg and/or with the sum of three dimensions from 201 and up to 277 cm): tandem bikes, windsurfs, hang gliders, longboards, canoes / kayaks, rubber dinghies, vaulting poles, equestrian gear. For all sports items not mentioned below the normal excess baggage rates will be applied.more info  

Croatia Airlines carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments can be included in the baggage allowance.

When transporting large musical instruments (weighing more than 32 kg and/or measuring more than 158 cm), it is necessary to obtain a transport approval from the airline. The price for carriage is the same as for sports equipment (see above).

When carried in the passenger's seat, the weight of the instrument usually must not exceed 80 kg, and the dimensions should not exceed 150x42x25 cm / 110x42x50 cm for instruments carried on the floor near the seat / on the seat on flights with Airbus a319/320 or 125x42x25 cm / 80x42x50 cm on flights with Dash 8 Q400 aircraft respectively.
