Changes in terms and conditions of Icelandair Airlines passenger transportation due to coronavirus:
at present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

wearing a protective mask covering both your nose and mouth is mandatory for all passengers from the moment of invitation to board the aircraft until disembarking, the airline also recommends the use of a mask everywhere at the airport. Surgical or masks with increased protective properties without valve are usually allowed, one mask for about 3 hours of flight.

Icelandair Airlines hand luggage:

1 piece of carry-on baggage with the sum of three dimensions 115 cm (55х40х20 cm)
+ Icelandair also allows to take on board a small personal item (handbag, backpack or laptop bag ) ! Departures from US: Saga Flex Class travellers are obligated to check in their 2nd piece of carry-on baggage.

There is no hand luggage for an infant (a child under 2 years) traveling on the lap of an accompanying person. For children from 2 to 12 years old, the same baggage allowance applies as for adult passengers with the same fare.more info  

Icelandair Airlines Checked Baggage:

The sum of three dimensions of any hold baggage item must not be larger than 158 cm. For children under 12 years on Icelandair flights, you can carry free of charge a foldable buggy, as well as an approved child car seat (if you need it during the flight).
For infants (children up to 2 years of age), it is allowed to carry 1 piece of checked baggage weighing up to 23 kg, regardless of the chosen fare (except in Economy Light with no free checked baggage).

Passengers with disabilities and special requirements, those needing assistance of the airline staff should contact the airline at the time of booking or not later than 48 hrs before departure.more info  

Icelandair Airlines excess baggage charges:

Standard piece of baggage: max dimensions 158 cm and weight max 23 kg.

Heavy (overweight) baggage: more than 23 but less than 32 kg.

Items weighing more than 32 kg will be transported only as cargo.

Icelandair Airlines carriage of pets:

Pets (birds) carried in the hold of Icelandair aircrafts, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 40 kg (Europe 32 kg) and its size 92x71x64 cm Certified service animals accompanying people with disabilities are transported in the aircraft cabin free of charge, the carrier must be notified  not later than 48 hours before departure.more info  

Icelandair Airlines carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

Fishing, golf, ski (water or snow) equipment and weapons may be included in the baggage allowance instead of a normal bag.

For sports equipment not listed below the standard rates for excess baggage will be applied.

Type 1: skiing (snow or water), fishing, golf, diving, hockey equipment, weapons.

Type 2: bicycles (with the maximum size 221x56x102 cm and not heavier than 32 kg), kites, surfboards.

Type 3: kayaks, vaulting poles, windsurfing boards.

Icelandair Airlines carriage of musical instruments:

Small musical instruments usually can be accepted in place of your carry-on baggage allowance, if they don't exceed its limits.

Musical instruments as checked baggage (up to 158 cm in the sum of three dimensions)
When carried in the passenger's seat, the weight of the instrument usually must not exceed 80 kg, and its size must not exceed 135х50х30 cm. Contact Icelandair customer service for precise information and permission.more info
