Changes in terms and conditions of LOT Polish Airlines passenger transportation due to coronavirus:
at present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

wearing a protective mask covering both your nose and mouth is mandatory for all passengers over 5 years of age at all stages of the flight: when boarding / disembarking and during the flight. Surgical or masks with increased protective properties without valve are usually allowed, one mask for about 4 hours of flight.

! Infants (children under 2 years) travel on the lap of an accompanying person at 10% of the normal fare. For children from 2 to 11 years old the discount on the purchased a seat is 25% on international flights and 40% on flights within Poland (not applicable for flights with LO8XXX codes).

! Discounted Air Tickets between Poland and the US from $446 from / to airports of New York (NYC), Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX) and Chicago (ORD) in the US and of Warsaw (WAW), Krakow (KRK) and Rzeszow (RZE) in Poland.

LOT Polish Airlines hand luggage:

1 piece of carry-on baggage with the sum of three dimensions 118 cm (55х40х23 cm)

+ Polish Airlines allow carriage of small personal items (not exceeding 40x35x12 cm and 2 kg: such as a handbag, briefcase, or laptop bag) * one piece weighing no more than 8 kg

A piece of hand luggage exceeding the permitted weight and/or size will be carried at an additional charge as a standard piece of checked baggage.

For a child you can take free of charge some food, a collapsible stroller or a push chair (can be used till the moment of boarding).

Passengers with reduced mobility can carry crutches and other mobility aids in the cabin (a wheelchair is carried in the hold).more info  

LOT Polish Airlines Checked Baggage:

The sum of three dimensions of any hold baggage item should not exceed 158 cm. * LOT Economy Saver, LOT Economy Flex Plus, and LOT Business Flex Plus fares do not include a free checked baggage allowance, but it is available at a low price.

** On flights from / to Canada, India, Kazakhstan, South Korea, USA, Japan and Sri Lanka for Business class passengers, free checked-in baggage allowance is 3x 32 kg.

Infants (children under 2 years) have free baggage allowance of 1 piece up to 23 kg with standard measurements regardless of the travel class and destination. Exception: fares with carry-on baggage only.

Passengers with reduced mobility on flights of Polish Airlines can take two additional pieces of mobility aids (wheelchairs, walking frames, crutches, etc.) at no cost, the airline should be notified at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure (this is also relevant for passengers needing assistance of the airline staff). more info  

LOT Polish Airlines excess baggage charges:

Standard piece max 23 kg, heavy 23-32 kg, oversized more than 158 cm

A single baggage item should not exceed the limit of 32 kg.

Prices are in € and vary depending on the Euro to PLN exchange rate * LOT Economy Saver, LOT Economy Flex Plus, LOT Business Flex Plus fares: the first piece of checked baggage can be purchased at any time before departure online, through Contact Center, at check-in desk and at any lot ticket office 25 € for domestic and international or 60 € for intercontinental flights.

Pets (birds) carried in the aircraft cabin* on Polish Airlines flights: the size of the container must not exceed 115 cm in the sum of three dimensions: 55х40х20 cm for Boeing 787 and 737 aircrafts, 45х30х20  cm for other aircraft types, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg.

Pets (birds) carried in the baggage compartment*: the weight of the container (with pet/pets) usually must not exceed 50 or 75 kg. Certified service animals accompanying people with disabilities will be carried free of charge, please notify the airline not later than 48 hrs before departure.more info  

LOT Polish Airlines carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

According to baggage policy of Polish Airlines, sports equipment not exceeding baggage allowance (weight and number of pieces) is included in the baggage allowance. The size limit can be exceeded.

Otherwise charges for carrying sports equipment are applied. For sports items not listed below the regular excess baggage rates will apply.

Weight of sports equipment must not exceed 45 kg.

Type 1: bikes, inline skates, skateboards, surfboards, javelin, archery, fishing, golf, hockey, bowling, parachute, alpinist, hiking, scuba diving, ski, waterski, snowboard, tennis, squash, badminton equipment, sporting and hunting weapons*.

Type 2: windsurf, hang gliding, equestrian, pole vault equipment, kayaks, longboards, rubber dinghies, tandem bikes. * Sporting and hunting weapons: notification is required (at least 48 hrs. prior to departure), are only charged if carried separately, additional fees if departing from: Italy up to €90, Turkey — €30, UK — £50.more info  

LOT Polish Airlines carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments are included in the baggage allowance.
