Changes in terms and conditions of Volotea Airline passenger transportation due to coronavirus

At present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

thus far, wearing a protective mask covering both your nose and mouth is mandatory at all stages of the flight: only surgical masks or masks with enhanced protective properties of FFP2 / FFP3 types or equivalent without valve may be used when boarding / disembarking and during the flight (one mask for approximately 4 hours of flight). At the same time, masks with valves, scarves, protective face shields, etc. are not acceptable.

Infants (children up to 2 years of age) can travel on an adult’s lap for an extra charge of  25 € (30 if booked through call center or  at the airport).

! Please keep in mind that free check-in is possible only online (through Volotea call center it will cost 15 and at the airport 35 €).

Volotea Airlines hand luggage:

1 piece of carry-on baggage with the sum of three dimensions 115 cm (55х40х20 cm) an up to 10 kg, for air tickets purchased after June 8, 2022, can be carried free of charge only with additionally booked Priority Boarding service from 3 € on the airline website, from 15 € via Call Center or from 35 € at the airport; for tickets purchased before June 8, 2022, this bag is free, but you can only bring it into the cabin if you have purchased priority boarding service, otherwise you must check it in free of charge

+ small personal items (! its weight will be added to the weight of your hand luggage, 35x20x20 cm: umbrella, handbag, briefcase, walking stick/cane, books, laptop, camcorder, camera, bag with Duty Free purchases and so on)

If you exceed the weight and/or size of your carry-on baggage, you will have to pay an additional fee of 60 €.

For an infant (child under 2 years of age) traveling on the lap of one of parents it's allowed to take a folding bed, a child seat or a stroller free of charge. Any of these items must be checked in. The baby stroller can be used until boarding. In the cabin, one can take strollers not exceeding the size of and ! instead of your hand luggage. For a child without a separate place no hand luggage is provided.

Passengers with disabilities and special requirements, those needing assistance of the airline staff should contact the airline at the time of booking or not later than 48 hrs before departure.
Passengers with restricted mobility may carry free of charge and in addition to free baggage allowance crutches, walking sticks, walkers, manual wheelchairs and dry cell, non-spillable battery-powered wheelchairs.more info

Volotea Airlines excess baggage charges:

Standard hold baggage: items with weight up to 20 or 25 kg.

Online at volotea.com:  first bag up to 20 kg from €9 or from 15 through call center and 50 at the check-in desk at the airport;  a piece of baggage up to 25 kg will cost you from 16 via the airline website or app, 22 via call center, 65 at the check-in counter at the airport or at the boarding gate;

additional €10 fee for each extra bag + an additional €4 fee for purchasing through Your Booking.

Checking in oversized or overweight hand luggage at the boarding gate will cost €60.

Overweight up to 32 kg: €12 per kg.

Per passenger up to 5 suitcases with maximum total weight 50 kg.more info  

Volotea Airlines carriage of pets:

Pets (birds) carried in the aircraft cabin. The size of the container must not exceed 110 cm in the sum of three dimensions: 50х40х20 cm, the weight of the container (with pet/pets) must not exceed 8 kg.

Service animals accompanying persons with disabilities can travel in the cabin for free, this service requires prior notification and consent of the airline, ! won't be accepted for carriage on flights between continental Europe and Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Kosovo, Turkey and Jordan.more info  

Volotea Airline carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

Sports equipment (such as surfboards, snowboards, windsurfing equipment, golf bags, bicycles, etc.) is transported as special baggage.

€60 online / €65 through call center / €80 at the airport.

Carriage of sporting guns and ammunition (max 5 kg) requires prior notification and consent of the airline, standard baggage rules for sports equipment will apply.more info  

Volotea Airlines carriage of musical instruments:

Musical instruments are included in the baggage allowance (you can take your instrument not exceeding hand luggage allowance free of charge instead of your hand luggage).

For transportation of musical instruments as hold baggage special baggage charges will apply.

When carried in the passenger seat, the weight of the instrument usually must not exceed 80 kg, and its size must not exceed 135х50х30 cm.more info
