Changes in terms and conditions of Transavia Airlines passenger transportation due to coronavirus:
at present some countries have restricted non-essential trips: the current restrictions, other information and advisories on entering foreign countries for US citizens;

please note that entering many countries requires filling in the contact form (sometimes it is also necessary to get a QR code), providing the results of the preliminary passed  negative antigen (done not later than 48 hours before departure) or PCR test (no more than 72) for coronavirus and/or self-isolation (quarantine) with the duration from 5 (under condition of passing the repeated tests) and up to 14 days upon arrival in the destination country; you may also encounter complete restriction on entry for foreign nationals or the need to provide proof of vaccination/revaccination;

On flights from / to the Netherlands and France, the use of protective masks covering nose and mouth is currently not mandatory but is recommended during all stages of flight: only surgical masks and or masks with enhanced protective properties without a valve are allowed during boarding / disembarking and during the flight (FFP or for some destinations only FFP2 masks are allowed); protective screens, shawls and scarves, cloth masks and masks with valve are not acceptable. Children under 13 years of age on flights to / from the Netherlands and under 11 years of age on flights to / from France may travel without a mask.

! Children under 2 years of age without their own seat may travel on the lap of an accompanying person for a flat fee of 25 €.

Transavia Airlines hand luggage:

For all fares a piece of carry-on baggage with maximum dimensions of up to 118 cm (55x35x25cm) is allowed, only guaranteed to be carried in the cabin if you have purchased the MAX package.

Small personal items (30x40x20cm, such as laptop bags or small handbags) are also accepted. These items are always carried in the cabin.

In addition a passenger may take an umbrella, a walking stick and a single bag with duty-free items from a duty-free shop free of charge.

A baby travelling on the lap of an accompanying person is not entitled to his/her own hand luggage and everything must fit in your bag. However, a maximum of 10 kg of additional checked-in baggage may be taken, allowing carriage of a buggy, pram, cot. Children occupying their own seat are subject to the same baggage rules as adults; in this case, a byggy or pram weighing up to 10 kg is also accepted (must be put in the hold and can be removed just before boarding) as well as a car seat for your child to make the journey more comfortable.

Passengers with disabilities and special requirements, those needing assistance of the airline staff should contact the airline at the time of booking or not later than 48 hrs before departure.
Wheelchairs and personal mobility aids are always carried at no extra charge (wheelchairs, crutches, folding walkers and other orthopaedic aids), but the airline requests to book the wheelchair transportation service during the second step of online booking, add this service later or call the customer service. Hand luggage exceeding permitted weight and/or size will be carried in the hold of the aircraft for an additional fee of minimum 40 € per leg.more info  

Transavia Airlines Checked Baggage:

Although no size restrictions were spotted on the Transavia website, generally the sum of all dimensions of a standard piece of checked baggage should not exceed 158 cm. Each passenger may check in up to 5 pieces of baggage, each piece weighing no more than 32 kg. The total weight of all baggage items may not exceed 50 kg.

For a child travelling on the lap of an accompanying person, 1 piece of checked baggage weighing up to 10 kg (e.g. a folding buggy) is allowed.more info  

Transavia Airlines excess baggage charges:

A maximum of 5 pieces of checked baggage with a maximum total weight of 50 kg are allowed, a maximum weight per piece is 32 kg,
Payment is charged per passenger and per flight segment

Prices for extra baggage are in € * The cost of baggage transportation depends on the route, so the exact amount can only be known at the time of booking
At the airport, the excess weight is charged at a rate of €15 per 5 kg.more info  

Transavia Airlines carriage of pets:

Pets ( dogs or cats) in the cabin of a Transavia aircraft. The maximum size of the container is 94 cm by the sum of the three dimensions: 40x30x24 cm, its maximum weight of container (together with pet/animals) 8 kg.
For pets (cats and dogs) traveling in the hold, the maximum weight of the container (together with the animal(s)) must not exceed 75 kg and its dimensions must not exceed 102x69x76 cm. Transportation of guide dogs is free of charge, but you should contact the air carrier 48 hours before the scheduled departure and inform him about the intention to fly with your service dog.more info  

Transavia Airlines carriage of special baggage: sports equipment, firearms and ammunition:

Sports weapons and ammunition are carried only in the luggage compartment of the aircraft, the airline service center must be informed no later than 72 hours before departure, in this case a number of additional carriage conditions, which you can learn about only through the call center, will apply.more info  

Transavia Airlines carriage of musical instruments:

Small instruments can be carried in the cabin instead of your carry-on baggage, larger instruments can be transported as check-in baggage, in both cases the airline will not accept any liability for their damage.
